Bortoletti Corner wooden calligraphy set for elegant handwriting and desk display

The Bortoletti Corner wooden calligraphy set with cameo inkwell is a beautifully composed writing set created for those who appreciate traditional handwriting, refined materials, and Italian craftsmanship. Entirely handmade in the Bortoletti workshop, this elegant set combines a wooden and chiselled bronze calligraphy pen, a decorative inkwell, a signature drier, and vintage nibs in a presentation that feels both practical and highly decorative.

Designed for writing important words and enhancing the desk with heritage character, the Corner set reflects the balance between artisan tradition and innovation that defines Bortoletti writing accessories.

What is included in the set

This writing set includes a wooden calligraphy pen, a glass and bronze inkwell, a signature drier, three vintage nibs, and 50 ml of black Cagliostro calligraphy ink. Together, these elements create a complete and elegant desk set for traditional pen-and-ink writing.

Wooden pen with chiselled bronze detail

The Corner calligraphy pen is made from wood and finished with chiselled bronze detail, giving it a refined and balanced appearance for handwriting. The natural warmth of the wood pairs beautifully with the decorative metalwork, creating a pen that feels both practical and visually distinctive.

Glass and bronze inkwell with cameo lid

The inkwell is made from glass and bronze and is decorated with a refined glass paste cameo on the cap. This elegant detail gives the set added richness and makes the inkwell a striking focal point on the desk. The inkwell also serves as a useful pen rest, combining decorative appeal with everyday function.

Black Cagliostro calligraphic ink included

The set is supplied with 50 ml of Hamburg’s black Cagliostro calligraphic ink, a rich and atmospheric ink associated with mystery, depth, and dramatic intensity. Its strong black tone remains striking on the page and supports expressive handwriting, while the care taken in selecting raw materials and throughout production helps ensure high-quality performance.

Signature drier and vintage nibs

A signature drier and three vintage nibs complete the set, adding both practicality and heritage appeal. The nibs are suitable for traditional dip pen writing and help make the set more versatile for customers who want to explore different handwriting styles while enjoying the feel of classic writing tools.

Suitable for English cursive and traditional scripts

Fine-point nibs are especially well suited to basic writing and English cursive, where their flexibility allows pressure variation on the downward stroke to create the elegant contrast between light and dark lines. Broader nib styles can also be used for more formal scripts such as round writing, ancient Gothic, and modern Gothic, making the Corner set a rewarding choice for traditional calligraphy practice.

Designed with Venetian refinement

All the details, finishes, and proportions of this writing set reflect careful research and an elegant balance between artisan tradition and innovation. The project was conceived with a refined play of geometric balances in Atelier A 70 in Venice – Mestre, giving the Corner set a strong link to its place of origin and a distinctive sense of design.

Elegant desk accessory and gift idea

As a decorative element or for writing important words, this wooden calligraphy set makes a striking addition to a desk, study, or creative workspace. Its combination of wood, glass, bronze, cameo decoration, and traditional writing accessories gives it a premium heritage style that is especially suitable for gifting.

How do I swap a glass nib for a steel nib in the Bortoletti dip pens?

To change a nib in a Bortoletti dip pen, first pull the existing metal or glass nib straight out from the holder. If you are switching from a metal nib to a glass nib, you may also need to remove the small metal collar, or ferrule, from the tip of the holder using your fingernail. Once that is removed, slide the new nib into place and check that it is seated firmly and sitting straight so the ink flows properly.

There is also a helpful video from the Procincial Pen Co. showing how to change Bortoletti dip pen nibs here: Watch the video tutorial.
