Bortoletti Palladio wooden calligraphy set for elegant handwriting and desk display
The Bortoletti Palladio wooden calligraphy set is a beautifully composed writing set created for those who appreciate traditional handwriting, natural materials, and Italian craftsmanship. Entirely handmade in the Bortoletti workshop, this elegant set combines a wooden calligraphy pen with a hand-chiselled bronze inkwell in a design that feels both practical and decorative.
With its balanced materials and distinctive Venetian character, the Palladio set is ideal for fine-tip calligraphy, meaningful handwritten words, and stylish desk presentation. It is a small masterpiece of design that brings together everyday usefulness and heritage appeal.
Handcrafted wooden pen with bronze inkwell
The Palladio set centres on a wooden calligraphy pen paired with an important bronze inkwell, creating a writing ensemble with warmth, balance, and refinement. The contrast between the natural wood and the decorative bronze detail gives the set a timeless appearance suited to both classic and more contemporary interiors.
Integrated pen support for practical use
The inkwell includes a special bronze support on the front, allowing the calligraphy pen to rest neatly between uses. This practical feature helps keep the pen close at hand while also contributing to the sculptural design of the set, making it especially appealing as a decorative object for the desk.
Ideal for fine-tip calligraphy
This writing set is perfect for practising fine-tip calligraphy. Fine-point nibs are valued for the flexibility created by their shape and slit, allowing variation in pressure on the downward stroke and producing the elegant light-and-dark contrast particularly associated with English cursive writing.
Suitable for broader traditional scripts
As well as fine writing, broader truncated nibs can be used for more formal scripts. These nibs, cut transversely in the manner of a traditional quill, are used for styles such as circular writing, ancient Gothic, and modern Gothic. This makes the Palladio set a versatile option for anyone exploring traditional letterforms.
High-quality Hamburg calligraphy ink
Bortoletti Hamburg inks are known for their quality and for retaining an intense colour even after drying. The care taken in selecting raw materials and throughout production helps create an ink that performs well for calligraphy practice and decorative writing. The glass bottle has a screw cap with a reliable seal, and the opening is wide enough to allow the pen to be dipped with ease.
Decorative appeal for desk or home
The Palladio set is not only a practical writing tool, but also an attractive decorative feature for an office desk or for the home. Its combination of wood, bronze, and traditional calligraphy function allows classic and modern tastes to meet in one elegant object.
Gift-worthy presentation
With its refined materials and handcrafted character, the Palladio calligraphy set makes a thoughtful gift for calligraphers, writers, stationery lovers, and anyone who appreciates heritage-inspired desk accessories. It is especially suitable for customers looking for a writing set with both beauty and practical function.
Bortoletti Italian craftsmanship
Bortoletti is known for elegant writing instruments and desk accessories inspired by Venice, traditional craftsmanship, and decorative Italian metalwork. The Palladio wooden calligraphy set reflects that heritage through its handcrafted construction, hand-chiselled bronze inkwell, and careful balance of function and visual appeal. It is a writing set that celebrates artisan making in a distinctive and usable form.

Bortoletti was founded in 1980 by four brothers driven by the passion passed on by their father for bronze casting and sculpture.
It was born in Venice, and it was here that a story of love and passion began that has been handed down from father to son in respect for tradition and the need to preserve what is wonderful about culture.
Bortoletti Fonderia Artistica design and create exclusive handmade objects in the tradition of Venetian craftsmanship, from the pencils of their designers and their artistic creativity come the designs of wonderful products and it is always a lifeblood of the whole creative process.
The passion and care they devote to their products are a source of pride and satisfaction for everyone. All creations are unique pieces, handmade and produced elusively in Bortoletti's workshop. By integrating with modern habits, they restore to you the pleasure of giving that has belonged to us all for millennia. The design of Bortoletti's products is so pleasing to the eye because it speaks of the past in the language of the present.
If you have a piece of Bortoletti - you have a part of Venice in your hands.
To change a nib in a Bortoletti dip pen, first pull the existing metal or glass nib straight out from the holder. If you are switching from a metal nib to a glass nib, you may also need to remove the small metal collar, or ferrule, from the tip of the holder using your fingernail. Once that is removed, slide the new nib into place and check that it is seated firmly and sitting straight so the ink flows properly.
